Adventure to the Goodwill on 03.23.14

Goodwill 03.23.14

On Sunday March 23rd, my friend and I started around 10 in the morning for our weekly jaunt to the Goodwill. We stopped off at Starbucks for our usual coffee break before hitting the road up north. I have decided the Goodwills have better selections and what I am looking for then in my home town. I thought the Burien store would have more Mason pint jars, but I didnt find any this time. This is what I found though.

VHS tape $.49 (I love this movie)
Total $11.11 saved $2.49

Our next stop was Seattle and we were right on schedule. Our course we had to again back track to get to Dearborn Street (I dont know why we can never remember how to get to the Seattle Goodwill without winding through the streets of Seattle, but somehow we always get there). This is what I found.

Strainer $.50 reg.$.99 (bath toy)

Dress $2.50 reg.$4.99 (consignment)

This time instead of going home like always, we decided to try Puyallup on Meridian Street. This used to be one of our favorites.

Kids book $1.29 (gift)

Our last stop was in Puyallup on River Road. One thing about the Puyallup stores is that on Sunday and Monday they have a certain colored tag on sale for $1.29, sometimes this makes things an excellent buy, especially clothes. Than another colored tag is 50% off all week. This is what I found:
                                                   Basket $1.29 reg.$1.99 (for daughter)
                                                   Basket $1.29 reg.$2.99 (for daughter)
                                                     2 jars @$.29= $.58 (for daughter)
                                                       Pjs $1.29 reg.$2.99 (grandkids)
                                                       Pjs $1.49 reg.$2.99 (grandkids)
                                                           SW plaque $5.99 (mine)

Total at this store was $13.06 and I saved $5.59.

This is my time for me to spend time with a good friend without children and for us to catch up with life in general. Of course I didn't really find anything I was looking for from my previous description except the baskets and a few Mason jars. I will still be on the lookout for the other items - that is what makes the thrill of exploring the nooks and crannies of the Goodwill. There usually is something for everyone and even more than you can imagine.
