I
am an ordinary person with a passion to stretch my teacher salary as far as one
can. This is why I am always on the lookout for bargains through couponing,
sales and goodwill shopping (watch for weekly updates). Sometimes I don't even
know I am looking for something until I find it - hence the name for this blog
– Lost But Found It.
I
am not pretty (my sister got those genes). I normally have hair that won't do
anything I want and it seems like it grows in leaps and bounds. My students
informed me I look like a mad scientist and Albert Einstein. I am slightly
overweight - love sweets and carbs (need to give them up – my arthritis is
kicking in and of course I feel much better when I'm off the foods I really
enjoy - don't we all). But the jiggling from my middle past my butt onto my
thighs is just not swimsuit model appropriate. So sometime in the near future
like now - bye bye to my favorite foods and back to more of a basic caveman way
of eating, lucky me.
Me in 2008
Just
like me to get off the subject of ME! Ok, something else about myself I might
be a little nerdy - I understand about the computer but I really don't
understand Facebook and especially trying to get it up and running on this
website. Love Pinterest but I have tried understanding different blogs
explaining how to attach it to your blog - but this HTML is definitely a
foreign language to me. But I'll forge on and someday soon (keep your fingers
crossed - I will get it there).
You
will have to forgive me I write like I talk --- my brain seems to have a mind
of its own and often it disconnects in my speaking and zoom I'm onto another
subject. So I am warning you ahead.
Yes,
I know you want to know something personable. I'm getting there. I am above the
half century mark, I have 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren (a girl and twin
boys). My parents live in the same city as I as well the extended family. My
sister lives close by. We are a very close knit family. We take trips together
(10 of us - 4 generations went to Disneyland this summer- story soon to follow)
and get together for family dinner once a week.
I teach in an alternative program that moved this year (another story
will follow soon). Currently 4 cats and 1 dog reside at my house.

I
teach special education students who have learning disabilities. I started
teaching late in my life- around 11 years ago. I have a bachelor’s degree in
fine arts- I know what you are thinking what kind of job do you get with that
degree? I love art - to be honest I really didn't think about going into
teaching as a minor. So I have had a variety of jobs: secretary, payroll clerk,
baby photographer, sales clerk and even a daycare. These jobs took care of me
until I realized I wasn't cut for these jobs and of course it took a friend
dying for me to get off my butt literally and do what I was born to do- Teach!
Most of my students have behavioral problems - so I try and create curriculum that
each one can be successful. I start at their ability level and build on their strengths;
this takes time and can be exhausting. I'm always looking for exciting
curriculum that will spark some interests (keep watching for some of my
successes).
My
life is full of love, laughter, humor (like you couldn't tell through this
writing), family, friends, struggles and triumphants. See I told you I was just
an ordinary person but with extraordinary abilities.
