Goodwill over Labor Day weekend

Sunday, Laura was headed north to take her niece home and asked if I wanted to join them for the ride with stops at the Goodwill on the way home. I said sure because the alternative was to stay at home and do yard work and fold the clothes. YECK!

Our first stop was Bellevue Goodwill - Sheesh! The lines were long with only 2 cashiers. I bought a pair of Birkenstock Disney sandals and a black long sleeved shirt for Kenz.
Sandals $12.99
Shirt $2.00 reg. $4.99

Next stop was Renton, I bought 6 t-shirts and a pair of sweats for the twins and 2 plastic dishes for either to use for an art project or to put under a plant.
6 Shirts $5.00 reg. $ 9.99 total
Sweats $1.00 reg. $1.99

Final destination was Tukwila. We were under the gun since we thought the Goodwill closed at 7, but we were surprised it didn't close until 8. I bought a box of safety latches, a pair of Keen sandals (future for twins) and a pair of sweatpants.
Shoes $ 5.99
Pants $.99 reg. $1.99
Safety Latches $.99 reg. $ 1.99

Laura and I arranged to meet up at 9 in the morning on Labor Day to begin our jaunt in the Seattle area Goodwill and Value Village. Because it was a holiday - sale prices varied from store and location.  But of course I found a few treasures - nothing on my list but a bookcase with moveable shelves. YEAH!

Our first stop was a coffee and gas in that order. Then we headed toward Burien Value Village - it was a zoo, didn't stay long. Next stop was Burien Goodwill. I bought 3 bike helmets for the twins (1 to go to my mom's and 2 to stay at my house - hopefully they fit because both boys have 2 totally different head shapes). Also I bought a package of safety locks and a rectangular cake pan with cupcake inserts for traveling (this will be great for school).
Blue Bike Helmet $.99 Reg. $4.99
Yellow and Green Helmet $3.59  each reg. $4.99
 Cupcake Holder $ 3.99
Latches $ 1.19 reg. $1.99

Got back on the freeway and was headed for Capitol Hill, but was too close to the Seattle Goodwill not to go there first so we changed the order of stopping and swung into the parking lot. I bought 2 magnetic locker stuff for Kenz, a sweatshirt, measuring spoons, a swimsuit, 4 packages of children's hangers, a box of safety locks, an ornament, foam door hangers (art project), a wired mesh container (to hold socks for Kenz), wedge sandals and a black block (to hang on the wall and put a word saying that I bought previously at the Goodwill).
3 packs of hangers for $.59 each reg. $.99 each
1 pair of sandals $3.59 reg. $5.99
Measuring spoons $.59 reg. $.99
Black Block $.99 reg. $4.99

After the Seattle Goodwill, Laura and I headed back to the freeway towards Olive Way to try and find a place to park in Capitol Hill Goodwill. We ended paying for the parking space for 1 hour. Did you know you have to pay tax on your paid parking? We were surprised. Learn something new every day.

I got 1 metal pot, 1 construction set (toy for the twins later on), rain boots, 4 kids tops, airplane origami paper, construction toy, plastic beads (I'm going to melt them), pipe cleaners and a paint project.
Metal pot $ 2.99 reg. $4.99

The Seattle adventure ended in Capitol Hill Value Village. Here all the salespeople were dressed up in Halloween costumes - interesting - I thought a little early. But what ever floats your boat. I bought 7 coats to resell at the consignment shop coming up at the Puyallup Fairgrounds in October, 2 t-shirts for Kenz, 2 boy sandals, red shoes for me, Community picture cards for school, a metal birdhouse and a wooden box to hold Kenz's jewelery.

Laura and I decided on the way home to stop for lunch and head for River Road Goodwill in Puyallup to look for furniture. She was looking for a glider and I was still looking for a bookcase with moveable shelves. Once at River Road I did find a bookcase and it was half price. No such luck for Laura though - we will still need to keep looking. But alas another day.
 Bookcase $12.49 reg. $25.00
minus all the books
