Goodwill trip up North - July 28, 2014

Today we started around 11 and it was my turn to drive to the Goodwill's up north. I picked up Laura and we hit the road on this beautiful Monday morning. Our first stop was Burien Value Village. I had filled 2 plastic bags with extra stuff from home and deposited at the donation center where they in turn handed me a $3.00 off coupon if I bought $10 worth of items and a 30% coupon off my next purchase. Then we went shopping. I bought:
A storage bin $2.99
A belt $1.99
Funky dress $.99 reg. $4.99
Black xmas dress $.99 reg. $7.99
Pink vest $.99 reg. $3.99
Total $8.71 saved $14.00

Next stop was Burien Goodwill, which is a skip and a jump from the Value Village I was just at. I bought:

Green sweater $1.29 reg. $2.99
Red & Black xmas dress $1.29 reg. $2.99
Plaid xmas dress $1.29 reg. $3.99
Maroon xmas dress $1.29 reg. $3.99

Green xmas dress $1.29 reg. $4.99
Dark red xmas dress $1.29 reg. $7.99
Holiday jars $.99

Coat $1.29 reg. $3.99
Total $12.38 saved $25.60

Third stop was Value Village Capitol Hill where I was hoping to use my 30% coupon. Paid for on street parking. $.25 pays for 9 minutes of parking - YIKES - so I loaded the machine for 54 minutes and set my phone alarm so I would be aware of the time. Headed into Value Village, grabbed a handheld rollie cart and grazed through the household items. I bought:

Cake pan New $.99
Glass stirrers $.99
Small tiered plastic bin $2.99
for the picture I added the books that originally were upstairs, they were $.69 each.
I then decided to hit the basement and found toys - my daughter was looking for another plastic trike and a bubble car (I don't know the technical name - but that is what I named it).

 Bubble car $6.99

  Trike $5.99

After I put these items on hold, I headed upstairs where the children's clothing and books are. I found:
Green and black coat $.99 reg. $5.99
Plaid coat $.99 reg. $7.99
Blue xmas dress $.99 reg. $6.99

Cream colored coat $.99 reg. $7.99
Plaid coat $.99 reg. $3.99
Green plaid coat $.99 reg. $2.99

Green and black coat $.99 reg. $7.99
Pink Cape $.99 reg. $2.99
Total $23.54 which included the 30% discount, saved $44.75.

Fourth stop was Capitol Hill Goodwill - the employees here are extremely nice and the displays are great and well thought out. I enjoy coming to this Goodwill. I found:
 Kids pants $1.29 reg. $2.99
Purple coat $1.29 reg. $9.99
Green vest $1.29 reg. $5.99
Vest $1.29 reg. $2.99

Kid's book $.79
Total $17.99 saved $36.30.

Seattle Goodwill was after Capitol Hill and we headed for the freeway at 3:20 - we thought this was a bad idea because it was bumper to bumper, but we got on and off without stopping too much. This is what I bought:
Storage bin $3.99
Traveling Banana case $.50 reg. $.99 (inside joke)
Purple coat $1.29 reg. $4.99

  Brown coat $1.29 reg. $7.99
Pink coat $1.29 reg. $5.99
Pink vest $1.29 reg. $9.99
Red coat $1.29 reg. $5.99
Total $11.92 saved $28.99.
Sixth and last Goodwill was Renton - the heat and not enough fuel was making me tired. This is what I found:
Brown coat $1.29 reg. $9.99
Pink fuzzy coat $1.29 reg. $5.99

Pink coat $1.29 reg. $5.99
White sweater $1.29 reg. $5.99

  Kid's suit jacket $1.29 reg. $7.99
Men's Columbia coat $1.29 reg. $7.99
Total $8.48 saved $36.20.
Remember the red lettering is mine and the black lettering I will be selling at the Puyallup Just Between Friends in October.

This trip to the Goodwill will have to suffice for most of August - my friend is going out of town and I have the grandkids.
